Position: Senior Designer

Position Summary/Objective-
 
The Design Consultant is responsible for selling foodservice design services to customers, drafting documents for construction/bidding purposes and ensuring job completion meets design intent.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities-

  • Explain and sell design process
  • Ascertain customers’ needs and preferences through effective listening and recommending appropriate foodservice equipment
  • Create efficient foodservice equipment floor plans that meet customer’s budget
  • Generate documents/drawings from AutoCAD and Revit to submit for construction/bidding purposes
  • Coordinate with architects and engineers
  • Proactive management of deadlines and communication of drawing lead times with customer
  • Prepare foodservice equipment budgets
  • Attend design and scope review meetings as required
  • Review and approve submittal packages provided by kitchen equipment contractor to ensure adherence to design intent
  • Design utilizing preferred vendors
  • Collaborate with other designers on latest technology and design ideas
  • Answer requests for information timely
  • Review bids submitted by kitchen equipment contractors as required
  • Conduct site visits and punch list during installation of project as needed per customer requirements
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner that fosters positive relations with customers, vendors, and internal company personnel
  • Grow design revenue yearly Attend department meetings and vendor training sessions
  • Attend department meetings and vendor training sessions
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Essential:
  • Extensive knowledge of BIM practices, standards and techniques
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Flexible in schedule to enable the company to meet customer needs – overtime and weekends may be necessary and required
  • Proficient in AutoCAD 2012 or higher
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office products & AutoQuotes
  • Foster positive relations and communications with departmental personnel, IT, Purchasing, Installers, Sales, Marketing, and other TriMark Division design/contract management departments
  • Strong relationship building skills with customers, general contractors, architects, manufacturers and vendors, and other trades on job sites

Preferred:
  • Proficient Adobe Photoshop and Navisworks
  • Working knowledge & proficiency with Revit 2013 or higher
Education & Experience-
Essential:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, or related discipline
  • Must complete CFSP Test within first 3 years of employment
  • 3-5 years experience designing and project managing in foodservice industry
  • Experienced in various market segments of design
Preferred:
  • CFSP or FSCI Certification
