Position: ERP Business Analyst – Finance

Position Summary:

The Business Analyst (BA) is required to work collaboratively with functional business areas and IT partners to achieve project objectives, milestones and deliverables while ensuring the implementation of high quality solutions that support organizational goals and objectives. The primary focus of this role is to be a liaison between the different TriMark Business Groups and Information Technology.  You will be on a project team to implement the new 'go to' ERP transitioning from a multi-ERP legacy environment.  On behalf of IT, drive combined business and IT vision and solutions.  The Business Analyst – Finance may also be responsible for supporting software solution implementations, driving process standardization and efficiencies as well as identifying growth opportunities and cost reductions.

Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
  • Review and develop road-map for Finance system standardization throughout TriMark, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cost Accounting, Credit, General Ledger, Project Costing, and other functions.
  • Passionately drives simplification and productivity throughout the finance business processes, including the use of automation and IT solutions
  • Develop templates to stream-line software implementation timelines and reduce costs
  • Defines and participates in analysis of interfaces to ERP & other finance systems
  • Develops detailed business user requirements, system documentation, workflow procedures, and data modeling. Negotiates plans, time frames and trade-offs while ensuring business partners understand the final results of the project
  • Ensures current and accurate system documentation, coordinates and or performs testing of system modifications, and develops, provides, or coordinates system training, educational tools and materials
  • Build your knowledge of other information systems and be able to speak to their capabilities in the context of our businesses
  • Coordinates with the finance and accounting teams to build new functionality when required, and set reasonable expectations with customers
  • Test updates and new versions of software for compatibility with TriMark environment.
  • Create SOP’s and drive consistent process / process improvement globally
  • Enable process simplification and identify areas of cost reduction
  • Drive cost out opportunities through process improvement and standardization
  • Create Functional and Technical Specifications based on business requirements
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to address business or systems issues.
  • Liaison with finance and accounting software vendors

Qualifications/Requirements

  • 5 years of IT experience
  • 4 year degree in IT, finance or related field
  • 5 years minimum implementing or support ERPs (JD Edwards preferred)
  • Experience implementing or supporting the following areas of an ERP system required (JD Edwards Preferred):
    • Accounts Payable
    • Accounts Receivable
    • Cost Accounting
    • General Ledger
    • Project Costing
    • Manufacturer Bill Backs and Rebates
    • B2B interfaces
  • Manage multiple priorities; both independently and as a team player
  • Be an independent problem solver with the ability to creatively translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Have outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Anticipate change and quickly prioritize accordingly
  • Be able to make decisions under uncertainty
  • Show a strong ability to solve problems creatively, and systematically
  • Have demonstrated interpersonal skills: ability to establish confidence, rapport and foster cooperative relationships with clients and coworkers.
  • Be friendly, empathetic, and professional even under stressful circumstances and tight timelines
  • Sound knowledge of system development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Strong skills in MS Office Suite
  • Travel required 30%
