TriMark United East Preserves and Renovates 125-Year Old Dining Hall

Preserving and restoring the historic character of a 125-year old building at Phillips Academy’s dining hall was crucial to TriMark United East. The team was given instructions that none of the building’s exterior—including window and door frames—could be touched during the renovation. The solution was to bring equipment into the second floor by crane. The result was a transformed, modern space that offered a wide range of culinary options.

Project Highlights

  • Project management; oversaw subcontractors; brought facility up to code; maintained goals and deadlines throughout this 15-month project
  • Two new serveries; wood stone hearth oven; custom counters; millwork; stainless steel; refrigeration; dry storage; cooking and prep areas; dish room
  • Equipment brought in by crane through second floor window
“All of our issues were worked through because TriMark always communicated what needed to happen, and we got the job done. I’d use TriMark again for our next project,” said Eric Thiboutot, LEED® AP and Project Manager for Consigli Construction Co., Inc.
